Re: Streaming from the input

Hello, a short note on some codec I found online. I found this tool https://github.com/dacarr/rtstream It provides one command (rtstream) that can be used to send / receive data from the card to another Pi. It works fine with multicast (224.0.0.1), overall latency of the whole chain rx/tx is less th...

Re: Streaming from the input

Hello, this is all great work! Unluckily I am not a C developer so my contribution here can not be much. However, I am just thinking if it was possible to integrate a smart codec like opus before broadcast via rtp. I was trying (and unluckily it does not work) the solution proposed years ago here: h...

Re: Streaming from the input

Hello, I noticed ffmpeg does not achieve the latency I need. With several combinations tested, l was never been able to get less than half second. Tried also jackd, but it seems it does not work at all with wifi, giving me tons of xruns (I opened another thread here in this forum about this issue). ...

Re: jackd: Raspberry Pi and Audioinjector

Hello, once again, thank you for your answer. I tried to change the Frames/Period to 256, 512, 1024, 2048, 4096 and the Period/Buffer to 2, 3, 4. I also tried to increase the MTU up to 24000 (I don't even know if it makes sense) using multiples of 1500 (like 3000, 6000 and so on). The result is stil...

Re: jackd: Raspberry Pi and Audioinjector

Ok, I just noticed the jackd and wi-fi are not good friends :-( As long as master and slave are connected through wired Ethernet, I do not see the Xruns. When I try to use wi-fi on the slave, then the Xruns happens. I searched on the net and found out there are several problem to address when using ...

Re: jackd: Raspberry Pi and Audioinjector

Hello, I am trying to establish a master-slave connection using jackd to stream realtime audio. My configuration is Ubuntu (master) and RPI3 (slave). Linux kernel is 4.10.0-19-generic and I have latest Jessie on RPI3. Launched qjackctl and created a setup for jackd, saved on ~/.jackdrc. marco@Dell-E...

Re: Streaming from the input

Yes, thanks.. Ok, my problem is to stream music wit the lowest latency possible. ffmpeg is one of the solution, but at this point i don't think it is the only solution. RTP is needed for low latency. I managed to measure the card latency with the ecasound command and I noticed a very low latency, ab...

Re: Streaming from the input

Hello, I managed to get some configuration working and after trying lot of combinations server-client, I am still not able to stream the audio input with less than 1 second of latency. I am wondering if the card itself introduces some latency and if this is not the case, what are the parameters to l...
