Re: Alsamixer Master doesn't control line out

Take a look here:

https://unix.stackexchange.com/question ... m-terminal

You can use amixer to change most of the settings on the fly.

Don't install/use the pots - they just introduce noise.

Re: GPIO Switch + sound card

Yes you can - the card doesn't use many of the pins.

pin 03 : I2C (shared),
pin 05 : I2C (shrared),
pin 12 : Bit clock,
pin 35: LR clock,
pin 38: Data in,
pint 40: Data out

Any of the others will be fine

Re: Low input sensitivity

There is a 6dB limit on input of the full size card but not the zero version. I have no idea why.
Using softvol is far from ideal for me but does make the card usable

Re: Line in capture boost

I'm doing something very similar. You have to actually use the plugin before it will appear in alsamixer.

Running something like arecord -D plug:mbl_rec should do it.

Re: 3.5mm sockets in breakout boards

No "official" reply yet but I dug out my multimeter and took a look at my card - the full size version, not the zero version. Input pot is 50K output pot is 100K. Not sure whether 50K on the input would be valid on the zero card as it apparently does not have the input 6dB limit http://forum.audioin...

Re: To anyone having issues with WiFi and this board...

As a follow up I cannot really recommend anyhting other than changing your WiFi channel. Running from a ribbon cable more or less works but there are still performance issued.

I can confirm that channel 8 is OK for me so channel 7 should be too.

Re: Native 24bit support [Resolved]

This was caused by a custom .asoundrc file with a softvol. Once I removed it and reverted to a bog standard .asoundrc all is OK.
Bit weird since I was specifying hw:0,0 instead of the plug device. ALSA is a bit weird tho ;)

Re: Both Zero sound card and DAC work together ?

Should be fine if you use a USB DAC.
A DAC HAT like HifiBerry etc. will not work.

Re: Native 24bit support

According to this https://www.cirrus.com/products/wm8731/ yes.

"Stereo 24-bit multi-bit sigma delta ADCs and DACs are used
with oversampling digital interpolation and decimation filters.
Digital audio input word lengths from 16-32 bits and
sampling rates from 8kHz to 96kHz are supported."
