Unstable behavior and high CPU ?

I've setup a pipe with GStreamer: >gst-launch-1.0 -v alsasrc ! audio/x-raw, rate=48000, channels=2 ! alsasink which sometimes works, and sometimes doesn't, sometimes I need to reboot to get it working again. Very erratic :( And when it does work, the CPU usage is almost 14% (!!). I would've expected...

Re: Project box for Octo card and the rca inputs?

The holes in between the RCAs have a plastic back end, so screws that cut into plastic will work. On the input there are two holes, on the output there are three. Do you see what I mean ?

Re: Furture of Octo?

You could probably route a GPIO pin to the mute input, with appropriate startup state, then set that GPIO pin to "unmute" in /etc/rc.local ?

Re: Low input sensitivity

Thanks! Could you put up a picture of which points you patched on the PCB ? I agree it must be easier than shorting R6/R7 directly.

Re: Project box for Octo card and the rca inputs?

I'm planning on using frontpanelexpress.com to make a box exposing the Ethernet + USB + HDMI connector (via extension cable) and the RCA connectors of course (+ routing WiFi antenna outside the box).

I may have bricked the Octo...

I installed the Octo on my RPi3, which, importantly, was configured for the stereo card (WM8731). And I noticed that the RPi didn't boot, and an IC on the Octo got REALLY hot (the FPGA), so I immediately turned the Pi off. Removing the Octo allows the Pi to boot... :(

Re: Max amplitude is low

If you can boost in alsamixer, that would be your best choice. Alternatively, the Audioinjector Zero doesn't have 6 db limiters on input, it is another option. Matt Matt, is there a way to tell whether it is a Zero or fullsize WM8731 card that is attached, to be able to apply the softvol boost only...

Re: Low input sensitivity

Ok, I'm not sure what this means. It is ambiguous. Is there a 6 dB attenuation on the input or not ? But not on the zero card ? The boost mentioned seems to imply soft volume, which means digital boost of 6 dB. That is unacceptable. The datasheet of WM8731 says 1Vrms*AVdd/3.3 at 0 dB FS. That is wha...
