ASLA & Zero channel capabilities

Hey,

Does ALSA handle each breakout board as an individual channel or is the whole card summed to one channel?

First, I do not own the card. I want to make a mixer that I broadcast the 8 input channels streamed to an android device where I can mix the resulting steams. As an example, listening from my Android device, I can mute channel 1 and listen to the rest of the mix.

I am very familiar with programming and I have experience with the ALSA dev api so as networking. I just need to know of the current capabilities of the Zero soundcard drivers on how it manages the input channels.
