The board appears to be connected properly, and it appears as the only sound output and so forth, but the only problem is that it produces no sound output, which is a reasonably vital feature of the sound card.
I have currently no idea what is going wrong. there are no errors produced.

Can you please show what aplay -l prints out ?
Also if you can capture your alsamix playback settings I would like to see that.
