Hi,
I bought one of the stereo cards for my Retropie build, and I'm wondering if it is possible to wire car speakers to it somehow. I like the idea of car speakers as I can mount them in my cabinet, and the sound quality can be very good for a reasonable price. However, I know very little about speaker wiring.
Has anyone done this before? Would I need an amplifier, and can you provide any direction, please?
Thanks,
Graham
How can I connect car speakers?

Re: How can I connect car speakers?
Hi there,
Sounds like a nice project.
To get car speakers to work, you will need an amplifier. You can probably get good value for money using a car amplifier. You can run this from a powerful computer power supply - which outputs 12V lines. Another option is to use a plain old AC/DC power pack ... or alternatively, just use a more regular class D or event better A/B amplifier.

Re: How can I connect car speakers?
Thank you for the advice. I went for a 12V 30W 4 ohm car amp and some 30W 4 ohm JVC car speakers. Sound is fantastic for less than £50.
