Default sample rate of MIC

Hi,

i'm using a google assistant tutorial and have a problem at the end when running,

Im on a raspberry pi 2 B running updated/upgraded :-
Linux raspberrypi 4.14.58-v7+ #1130 SMP Thu Jul 26 14:30:50 BST 2018 armv7l GNU/Linux

I get an error that implies the sample rate is invalid.
With Pyaudio there seems to be a way to change the sample rate default (changing value in a conf file) it needs to be 16000 for the google assistant.

Where and how do I change the default MIC sample rate for the Audio Injector Stereo board?

The last line of the error is :
sounddevice.PortAudioError: Error opening RawStream: Invalid sample rate [PaErrorCode -9997]
