Noise

Post by piero_goku » Mon Dec 03, 2018 4:49 pm

Hello friends.
I’m using this board as hat (I cannot use it to date with a ribbon) and it works great.
I did a fet preamp for my guitar that works great with this sound card.
With the left input channel I have not any problem.
Whit the right in (red) channel the signal of my input is there, but with important noise: it seems as the ground is not connected with a continuous “prrrrrrrrrrrr”...
Where could I investigate to resolve this issue?
Thank you very much.

It should be as simple as connecting a multimeter on the ohm setting to the input shield connector and to ground. It should show zero ohms. You can check the output of your guitar amp by simply reversing the leads, L<>R, on the soundcard input connectors, or connecting to an auxiliary input on a stereo receiver or amplifier.
