Seperating the AI card from the RPi

Hi, I've got the AI Stereo Card. Plugging in as a hat works fine. However, given the confines of the box I am installing it in, I've tried multiple times to unplug the hat and run individual jumper cables from the RPI GPIO to the bottom female GPIO of the injector card. I am basing my wiring on this post on the forum:

I have checked that I've wired the pins according to diagram multiple times. Anyone know what's missing? Do I need a different ground? The post doesn't specify which ground pins to us, just says as many as you want. I did 2 different ground pins which you can see in my diagram
