Question about audioinjector stereo bypass

Hi,
i use an audioinjector stereo for a project of a mine making an extensive use of the bypass function. when using the bypass i would like to preserve to the maximum the quality of the audio. my question is about how the bypass works: when bypass is on, the input signal is dierctly passed to the output without any further processing or it is in any case sampled and reconverted to analog by ADC and DACs?
