Any plans for a coaxial / SPDIF input card?

Post by W00fer » Fri Mar 31, 2017 8:02 am

Hi,

Great work on the Audio Injector card. I might buy it if I cannot see an Coaxial / SPDIF input card.
Really could use that to record some high quality audio.

I hope you can do a kickstarter for that. Preferably small size, like the Raspberry Pi Zero.

Thanks

Thank you.

We are thinking about the S/PDIF card. Thinking multichannel. But that would be a way off.

About the zero sized card. We have one in the making, allow me to introduce the audioinjector zero prototype. Just not sure whether we should do it or not.
Can you tell us what you think, what you would change ?

Matt, very very cool that you are working on a zero sized card with double RCA in and RCA out.
I like the prototype so far. The headphone port has no hardware volume control?
Please also make a volume limiter in the headphone port to save our ears :-)

My main thing stays: it doesn't have any digital inputs. Not out, but inputs.
So I can record digital stuff. In that way you can make digital to analog.
Oh and don't forget to make it stackable so I can put other HATs on top.

There are other things as well, there is no zero sized card that does XLR Microphone (mono or stereo?) in, could be great as a DSLR camera recorder.
But I'd favor the digital one.

Thanks for your suggestions. We will discuss them here.

I am very keen to do a digital input and output small sized board.
