This is why I got a second one! I'll give it a try sometime soon.

Is there a schematic or pcb diagram online somewhere? Also would be good to know exactly which pins are used for ground and power.

For gound and power, consider that most/all of the ground pins are used. They all connect to the same ground plane.
For power, the two 5V pins are used (pins 2 and 4), also pin 17 (3.3V) is used.

Any update on this? Do the SPI interfaces work while the Octo is connected? Is the HW mod required?

I am waiting on an Octo and my plan was to use it in conjuction with some spi adc's for interfacing potentiometers.

Give it a test, however the fallback is to cut the lines.

I'm running a TFT lcd off the spi with the Octo sound card running. I didn't need to modify the board to get it to work.
