hey there
sorry, i'm a complete noob regarding linux and raspberry. first i connected the soundcard with, then without preamp device in between, because i want to connect synths with line signal and i do not need a preamp.
i installed the card (the easy way) and everything seems OK in the terminal, in the raspbian settings the card occures and i thought it would be ready to play. i wanted to test it with a connected soundsource in pure data, didn't work. then i only wanted to hear something by playing a youtube-video in the browser, no signal from any of the outputs.
do i have to do further cofigurations? how can i test it?
cheers and thank you

Re: octo soundcard not working
try:
perhaps you have the same issue like me - ch1 and ch2 not working ?
Code: Select all
speaker-test -c 8
Re: octo soundcard not working
Yes, as bartl mentions, you can use speaker-test.
You can also play wav files using aplay. You can also install audacity : Audacity provides a gui for a waveform editor which allows you to playback.
Please let us know how you are going.
