Balanced Inputs noisey and hipass filtered

Post by nachtaktiv » Fri Feb 09, 2018 9:29 pm

hi!

my balanced octo soundcard used to work but suddenly the inputs are not working properly anymore. now there is a constant noisefloor and the sound seems hipass filtered.

is this a common problem? i tried with the unbalanced jack inputs, there is just the noise (normal? that was also before) but no hipass.

so i think it's a hardware problem, how can i or who can fix that? is there a warranty?

thanks,
lukas

Hi Lukas,

We aren't manufacturing the balanced powered breakouts any more.

Have you checked that you are powering them up ? You can try to remove the preamp board and plug outs/ins directly to the octo - they will be powered by the 5v supply from the octo sound card board.

Hi Lukas,

On my boards, value of capacitor C(49, 50, ...) are 1nF. Fc = 7KhZ
Correct value is 1uF (github kicad schematic file)
