volume control for individual channels in Python

Newbie Question: I am trying to play short WAV files to each of the 8 different channels of the Octo sound card and to adjust the individual channel volume on the fly in Python. I have been able to play the WAV files to each channel using sounddevice, but I have not found a way to adjust the volume for each channel.. I anyone can point me in the right direction for how to do this, either with sounddevice or another wrapper/library, it would be greatly appreciated.
