I may have bricked the Octo...

Post by robiwan » Sun Nov 26, 2017 5:51 am

I installed the Octo on my RPi3, which, importantly, was configured for the stereo card (WM8731). And I noticed that the RPi didn't boot, and an IC on the Octo got REALLY hot (the FPGA), so I immediately turned the Pi off. Removing the Octo allows the Pi to boot... :(

Sounds like a short on the card.

We do quality control on each board before they leave us ... so this is a strange problem we don't hear often.
