What does the pot next to the "IN" RCA jacks do?
Neither pot has any effect on headphone volume using mpc as a source.
I've got an AUDIO DEVICE SETTINGS gui panel for audioinjector-pi-soundcard (Also mixer) and I have two slides on it, with "Master" above them, one slider has a button with a speaker icon below it, the other slider has a "chain link" button below it... the sliders move in unison, and raise / lower the output from the 3.5 mm headphone jack... not sure exactly how the buttons work or what exactly these two sliders actually are doing in the circuit....
Is there documentation on this some place?
Is there a setting I need to invoke in order for one of the pots to adjust headphone volume?

Hi there,
On the zero version of this sound card, you can use an IO board to pass the headphone out through a pot to the connectors.
Otherwise you have to use software - such as alsamixer.

This is the card that I have, it is not the "zero" card, and it has a built-in headphone jack
